Windrose Farm is proud to introduce:
ingsden's
eign of
ire

Ren is what I call my dog of fate (my story):
I did own a previous Rottweiler who was an angel, and also a health nightmare. I lost him at only 5 1/2 years old (about 3 years after I got him) to Thrombocytopenia with an unknown cause, and after a 4 month battle with it.
After getting over the shock of my loss, I began to search for the perfect new best friend. Several months passed and I had almost given up; I was turned down for many reasons, #1-didn't like that I said my dogs are in/out dogs (since when are Rottweilers supposed to be indoor only dogs?), #2-I do vaccinate most of the time, because being a vet tech, I can come in contact with Parvovirus and other potentially fatal diseases, #3-my dogs can get through fences and into the horse pens as they desire. Having said this, I do have an 18 year old Australian Shepherd mix who came to us as a young pup and she still runs our several acres today with no problems other than a loss of her hearing-and this was not horse accident related!
Just as I was giving up hope, I found out a bitch I had always dreamed of having a puppy from was pregnant! I had worked for the breeder, so knew the lines, etc well, she was of excellent quality and had and unbeatable temperment. I had also warned everyone I knew that, one day one of her puppies would be in my life (I did hear "Only in your dreams" quite often, and true, this was my dream).
Kingsden's Reign of Fire, CGC (Ren) is what I call my dog of FATE... He entered my life when I needed him most and had almost given up hope. He is my protector, my companion, and above all else, my BEST FRIEND! I have shown him in conformation at the tough California shows only a few times due to my work schedule, and he has done a respectable job in the past, however, he is now 3 years old and has finally grown up in to the dog I always knew he would become! I can't wait to get him out now that he is all grown up and filled out!
I do hope to get him out much more in the coming months in the conformation ring, as well as begin his journey to his CD and Rally titles. I had held off on his obedience shows before (thinking I would have much more time to show conformation than I did), but will now go at them full speed! I have volunteered to teach the 4-H kids Junior Handling and Obedience the last several years and he has been my demo dog so he's always known obedience, but it wasn't something I worked on consistantly. I also hope to eventually get him good enough for showing Agility and possibly Herding as well (though he is much better at this than I am so I will seek outside help in training him to herd).
NEWSFLASH: I finally got a chance to get Ren in for his PennHip x-rays. I just got the results back and they couldn't have been better! For PennHip, thel lowest possible Distraction Index score for a dog is a 0.30, and 0.54 is the median for Rottweilers (the lower the number, the better). Ren's results came back as 0.33 and 0.32 (right and left hip, respectively). His results put him in the top 10% of the breed (the highest possible percentage)! The vet doing the latest x-rays said they were the best hips he had ever seen on a breed that can get hip dysplasia and now uses copies of his x-rays to show other owners what their dogs' hips SHOULD look like!
So without further ado, here is Kingsden's Reign of Fire, CGC (WR-073656/03)
(CH. Luxor vom Stefanhaus x Kingsden's Abilene Firestorm)

Ren is 24 1/2" tall at the withers and 26" long from point of shoulder to near his tail base (furthest point back).
PennHip: 0.33DI, 0.32DI, Rated in the top 10% of Rottweilers (26 months)
OFA Hips: Good (26 months), Preliminaries were Excellent (14 months)
OFA Elbows: Normal (26 months), Preliminaries were Normal (14 months)
CERF: Normal (28 months)
OFA Cardiac: Normal- Cardiologist (31 months)
Update: Ren has recieved his CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) certficate! CHIC#21689
Please see Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and Canine Health Information Center for more information about these important health tests.
We are also pleased to congratulate Ren's FULL sisters on their showring accomplishments...Kingsden's Que Mozel has finished her AKC Championship and Kingsden's Romance the Moon has points towards her champion title!
Ren Show - New video of Ren at his first show in over a year! He was quite distracted, but then again he hasn't been exposed to the show scene in over a year! He placed second in this strong class (there are more entries you can't see in the video).
Congratulations Ren--On May 14, 2006 Ren went Reserve Winner's Dog under Judge John A Reeve-Newson from Canada! Best of all, Ren was Owner Handled to this win! This was at the beautiful Blenheim-Oaks Equestrian Center, home of the Shoreline Fancier's Dog Association AKC Show. Not bad for not having been shown in quite some time. Ren has now been shown 5 times and his placings were as follows 1xRWD, 2x1st, 2x2nd and 1x3rd. Not bad for such limited showing...Though we love the conformation ring, I have decided that we will now concentrate on our obedience and agility titles, as I refuse to put Ren with a professional handler and there is just too much bias against owner handles, especially with Rotties here in the tough CA shows. We may still show in the breed ring, but the shows will be chosen for fun and for no other reason! Thank you to everyone for your support! Below are pictures from the show and right after the show (the camera batteries died, so we had to get more afterward)!

More than just a pretty dog in a showring, he's a working dog too!
Needless to say, Ren is NOT a kennel dog, and never will be...He lives on a small farm where he works and plays with all the different animals. If none of the other dogs will play with him, he will seek out Trystan, our Welsh Cob Stallion, and will get him to play. He has come back to meet us at the door with more horse slober across his face and back than I thought any horse could ever produce! Allie (Paint mare) is his best horse friend and they can be caught cleaning each other on a regular basis! Ren also acts as watcher of the goat kids each spring and keeps them in line when they are out on the pasture while we clean their pens.
Click here to see a short video clip of Allie cleaning Ren!
Ren wearing is favorite sunglasses at the Orange County SPCA Walk for the Animals. Ren LOVES his glasses and of course he loves all the attention wearing the glasses get him!
We are happy to announce that with the completion of his health testing, Ren will be standing at stud to approved bitches of quality.
Please email Rebecca for more information.
